Exploring the Forest Lands of Jim Corbett National Park

Jim Corbett National park was established in the year 1936 as Hailey National Park. It is India's oldest and the most prestigious National Park. Tourists can now find ample number of places to stay in Jim Corbett. There are resorts in Jim Corbett near river that add onto making it the most favored tourist destination world wide.

The park served as a launch pad for conservation efforts known as Project tiger in the year 1973. Project Tiger was launched in India to protect the most endangered species tigers. This National Park is spread in the area of 520 square kilometres. The terrain of the Park is hilly, marshy depressions, riverine belts, grasslands and large lake. It is one of the few tiger reserves in India that allows visitors to spend night in the Park.

Ramganga River is the main source of water for the Park. River Kosi runs very close to the Park. Sonanadi, Mandal and Palain Rivers feed Ramganga River. Jim Corbett National Park also invites people for adventure activities like rock-climbing, rappelling, river-crossing and slithering.
